Aberdeen City Council has tried to allay fears it was about to sell off a closure-threatened rare breeds farm.

The city withdrew its subsidy to Doonies Farm in its budget - but it was given time to find alternative methods of long-term funding.

A spokeswoman confirmed that five hectares of adjacent land owned by the council has been zoned for industrial development and will be sold.

It was stressed this would not have any impact on efforts to save the farm.
