Primary school is set for closure
A Shropshire primary school is a step nearer to closing because of funding pressures and low class numbers.

Childs Ercall Primary School has 17 pupils and education officials said it was "too small and expensive".

Shropshire County Council's cabinet committee agreed to pursue closure at a meeting on Wednesday morning.

A report by the council said there were problems with the site and unsuitable buildings, and other schools in the area cost less to run.

Childs Ercall will shut its doors at the end of the current school year if there are no successful appeals against the cabinet's decision.
