The council says no schools are currently under threat
More than 1,000 people have responded to a review of Shropshire's primary schools, which could see a number of them shut due to funding pressures.

A report will be given to councillors on 28 November outlining their views.

Declining pupil numbers means the education authority wants to reorganise schools and reduce surplus places.

During the six-week consultation, meetings were held with head teachers and pupils and there were 1,100 responses.

Ann Hartley, member for education at Shropshire County Council, said no individual schools had been singled out for closure at this stage.

"We are working hard to get the policy right for the way we organise primary school provision," she said.
