Shooting victim's funeral appeal
Ramone Cumberbatch and son Armarno
Ramone Cumberbatch left behind a three-month-old son, Armarno
A poster campaign to catch the killer of an 18-year-old man shot on 13 September is being launched to coincide with his funeral on Friday.

Ramone Cumberbatch died shortly after he was shot at a house on Rolls Crescent in Hulme, Manchester, the day before his 19th birthday.

Detectives said they have a new line of inquiry involving an argument that Mr Cumberbatch had with another man.

They said it took place shortly before he was shot at a friend's house.

"Did you see this argument or do you know anything about it?" said Det Ch Insp John Piekos, of Greater Manchester Police.

'Tragic loss'

"I urgently want to hear from anyone who has information about this, no matter how insignificant they think it may be, as it is vital that we find the person responsible for this cruel murder."

Mr Cumberbatch, his partner and baby son, Armarno, were dropped off by a green Ford Mondeo on Rolls Crescent shortly before 1400 BST on 13 September.

He was shot soon afterwards when someone entered the house while his friends, partner and baby were in the front garden.

His funeral was taking place at Christ Church in Monton Street, Moss Side, before burial at Stretford Cemetery.

"Ramone's funeral is taking place today and our deepest sympathies are with his family and friends," said Det Ch Insp Piekos.

"On this significant day, I would like the community to take a moment to think about the family's tragic loss and would ask them to support us so that another life is not wasted in this way."
