A man has died after being shot in the Hulme area of Manchester. Police have launched a murder investigation following the shooting which happened at an address on Rolls Crescent on Tuesday afternoon.
They said the victim was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary but died from his injuries.
The scene of the shooting was cordoned off while investigations continued and police have put highly visible armed and unarmed officers in the area.
They said the police presence was to reassure the community, as well as to deter any further acts of crime and to react quickly to any further incidents.
Officers have been granted special powers which allow them to stop and search people to check if they are carrying weapons.
