Police investigating a triple shooting in the Moss Side area of Manchester are continuing to question two men in connection with the incident.

A 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 16-year-old on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

Armed police have been on guard at Manchester Royal Infirmary following the shootings on Wednesday evening.

Police said on Friday the victims were all in a stable condition in hospital.

A 33-year-old man had been shot several times in the incident, on Cranswick Street.

One man had a wound to his wrist and another suffered leg injuries, said police.

High-visibility police patrols, including armed officers, were continuing in the Moss Side area to reassure the community.

Police said they had been granted powers allowing them to stop and search people to check if they were carrying weapons.
