The flight from Newquay to Cardiff takes about 35 minutes |
Regional airline Air South West is launching a new twice-daily flight from Cornwall to Wales on Monday. The Plymouth-based airline is also starting its first non-stop flight to Leeds Bradford airport from Newquay.
And its twice daily flights to Manchester will no longer involve a change of aircraft at Bristol.
It means the airline now serves six destinations from Newquay, flying to Gatwick, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Bristol as well as Dublin.
The new Cardiff service was welcomed by Teresa Timms, of VisitCornwall.
"This new Air Southwest route will make getting to Cornwall from South Wales easier and will help VisitCornwall to develop this market further, especially for short breaks," she said.
Last year the airline increased passenger numbers flying from Newquay Airport by 63% and has an aircraft and crew based permanently there.
A controversial 5 departure fee was introduced in October by Cornwall County Council to help fund the airport's redevelopment.
