Football fans get extra flights
A Devon football club's promotion has prompted an airline to put on extra flights.

Air Southwest has announced it is to launch a Saturday service flying between Plymouth, Bristol and Manchester.

The company says there has been a demand from fans of Plymouth Argyle who want to fly in to see the home games.

Air Southwest says that was one of the reasons for deciding to operate the service to Manchester at the weekend.

The company's commercial manager, Mike Coombes, said: "We've certainly seen a lot of demand for football fans wanting to travel between the south west and the north west.

"There's no doubt Argyle's promotion will give that demand an additional boost."

The new Saturday service will come into effect at the end of September.
