Festive cheer came to the flood-hit Cornish village of Boscastle on Thursday night as the Christmas lights were switched on. Dozens of people turned out to witness the annual event in the village which is still recovering after being hit by flash floods in August.
The floods on Monday 16 August caused millions of pounds of damage.
A 3m (10ft) wall of water crashed through the village when 77mm (3in) of rain fell in just a couple of hours.
Cars in the harbour car park were thrown into the sea and dozens of people were airlifted to safety by seven rescue helicopters.
Nearly �200,000 has been raised through an appeal fund which was set up by the Red Cross and North Cornwall District Council.
