Train services on commuter lines are hit for the third time
Another train breakdown in Essex has brought travel problems for commuters.

Services between Shenfield and London Liverpool Street have been disrupted due to an early morning train failure between Harold Wood and Brentwood.

Trains operated by One Railways on lines in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk were running up to an hour late.

Nick Jarrold, from One, said a train had broken down on the line out of London and this was now causing delays of up to 30 minutes into the city.

'Apologise to passengers'

The broken down train had been moved and some services were cancelled. Services are expected to return to normal later on Tuesday.

On Wednesday and Friday, commuters were delayed by up to six hours on journeys because overhead cables were brought down on sections of track in Essex.

Mr Jarrold said: "Once again could we apologise to passengers but the situation was in no way as bad as it had been last week.

"It had taken several hours for a rescue train to reach the broken down engine because it was stuck behind other waiting to get through on the line."
