Train firm in compensation talks
A One train
Overhead line damage caused severe delays to services twice
A rail operator that suffered two major breakdowns in service last week is to talk to Network Rail about compensation for passengers and faults in cabling.

One Railway's commuter services between London, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk were disrupted last Wednesday and Friday.

Trains lost electric power and passengers were stranded in carriages without refreshments for several hours.

One Railway is now discussing with Network Rail what went wrong as this might affect compensation payouts.

Nick Jarrold, from One Railways, said: "We'll be meeting Network Rail managers in the next few days to investigate the two incidents and to get assurances the situations will not happen again.

"We will find out who is to blame in those discussions with a view to settling compensation claims."
