Train services between Norwich and London have been halved |
Train travellers planning to journey from East Anglia to London are facing major delays after a minor landslide near Manningtree, Essex. The train provider One, which operates the Norwich to London line, via Ipswich and Colchester, said it was operating an hourly service in each direction.
This will continue while emergency works are carried out.
But spokesman Peter Meades said that the firm was hopeful it would not impact on commuters.
Rain made a section of the bank between Manningtree and Colchester unstable and train delays started at about 1130 BST.
One halved its service between Norwich and London to one train an hour while work was carried out to shore up the bank.
Only one line is operating between Manningtree and Colchester.
One said it hoped the service would be back to normal by 1800 BST for the evening rush hour.
