We look at how you spot an adder and what to do if you are bitten. • Gas Millions of British Gas customers face paying a staggering 35% more for their gas. With electricity costs also up 9%, it could mean a family spending on average an extra two hundred and sixty pounds a year. We have an exclusive look this morning at the trailer! • Missing Model Kelly Knox is the winner of the BBC Three series, Britians Missing Top Model. A competition between eight girls with disabilities, where the winner gets a photo shot with Marie Claire magazine. • Jaguar The Lost Land of the Jaguar is a new three-part series for BBC One, where an international team of scientists, climbers and wildlife film-makers visit the Guyanese rainforest to search for the extraordinary animals that live there. • Colin Jackson In a new series,'The Making of me', three famous people ask why they are the way they are. Athlete Colin Jackson lets scientists loose on his body and even jumps out of plane to answer a question that effects us all.

Tuesday 22 July • Lighthouse Bagging The unusual hobby of lighthouse bagging - visiting as many lighthouses as you can and ticking them off your list, is on the increase. • Cabarazzi When London cabbie Dominic Shannon bought a camera for security he didn't expect to find himself taking over hundreds of photos of London life from the seat of his cab, now they are all part of an exhibition. • Sir Ben Kingsley Oscar award winning actor, Sir Ben Kinsley is starring in a new film, Elegy. He plays a college professor who falls in love with a young woman played by Penelope Cruz. The film is released in the UK on August 8th. • The Human League The English synthpop band who have sold an estimated 20 million records worldwide, are back on tour starting on 30th November at Glasgow's Academy.
Monday 21 July • Obesity Today is the first day of a residential weight loss camp for children from South Yorkshire. Rotherham Primary Care Trust is the first in the country to invest into such an intense and expensive strategy to tackle obesity. • Tall Ships More than 70 vessels from 30 countries have gathered in Liverpool docks for the start of the Tall Ships Race this week. One the largest fleets of Tall Ships is expected to attract 500,000 visitors to the city. • Heir Hunters BBC1 show Heir Hunters, follows the company in tracking down rightful heirs to unclaimed estates where wills haven't been made or where no known family exists. • Roy Hudd Showbiz veteran Roy Hudd is set to star in this summers Royal Festival Hall production 'The Wizard of Oz', taking on the role of the wizard as the famous musical returns to the stage.
Friday 18 July • Learning to play A new study says 85% of mums in the UK think that children are growing up too quickly - are children's prospects hampered because they don't know how to play by themselves? • Extreme Cellists The musicians plan to give a performance with a difference. They will carry their own cellos to the top of the tallest mountains in Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland where on arrival they will give a recital, all in the name of charity. • The Bachelors They knocked The Beatles off the number one spot, stayed in the pop charts for 77 consecutive weeks and became the inspiration for Boyzone. The Bachelors, the first Irish boyband ever to storm the UK, are back with their greatest hits. • Summer Films The weather forecast for the summer looks gloomy, so cinemas are bound to be packed full. The new series starts next Monday, 9pm on BBC Two. • Thirties in Colour What do we know about the 1930's? A new programme on BBC Four, tonight at 9pm looks at the world's treasuries of extremely rare colour documentary films. • Diet on the Dancefloor Sequins, sparkle and weight loss are all on the cards for the brand new series - Diet on the Dancefloor. The show aims to help overweight people shed the pounds through dancing. • Crisps The chef Heston Blumenthal is judging a new competition to pick a winning flavour of crisps created by a member of the public. The winner will see their flavour on supermarket shelves and receive �50,000 with royalties for the entire life of the product!

A new website puts youngsters who are at college in touch with small businesses. • Rebecca Miller The author and director has a new novel, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. The book is also being made into a film starring Winona Ryder, Robin Wright Penn, and Julianne Moore, due to be released in 2009. • Space Tourist Forget lying on a beach for your holiday, billionaire video game mogul Richard has gone in search of something more. He's set for a new adventure - in space! The millionaire flies to the International Space Station in October.
Monday 14 July • World Class Today is the launch of BBC World Class - an initiative to get as many schools as possible in Britain twinning with schools in China so both sets of pupils learn about each others culture • Puffball The award winning book Puffball by Fay Weldon has been turned into a film starring Miranda Richardson, Donald Sutherland and Kelly Reilly for which her son has written the screenplay. It is released on Friday 18 July • Levi Roots Levi is the most successful and best known Dragons Den contestant. Thursday 10 July • Beatles Imagine being 16...and ending up spending 8 days with John Lennon at the famous peace Bed-In in Montreal in 1969. That's what happened to Gail Renard. Today she is selling hand written lyrics to the song "Give Peace a Chance" - which Lennon gave to her, as part of an auction in London. • Chris Addison The star of award-winning The Thick of It, is now in brand new BBC sitcom called Lab Rats which starts tonight on BBC Two at 9.30pm • Richard Fleeshman The singer, songwriter and actor who came to public attention when he won Soap Star Superstar. His album Neon is out now, he releases his next single 'Back Here' on Monday and is due to tour with Elton John this summer. • Cyndi Lauper The singer is due to release her highly-anticipated new album 'Bring Ya To The Brink' on July 21st. Fans can also look forward to a tour coming in October, with dates in Manchester, Southampton, Birmingham, London and Glasgow.

Tuesday 8 July • Gas safety on holiday We're talking to the parents of the two British children killed on holiday in 2006, by a carbon monoxide leak from the gas boiler in their holiday chalet. The gas safety watchdog Corgi is running a campaign to get parents to pack a carbon monoxide monitor with an audible alarm when they go abroad. You can buy electronic Carbon Monoxide alarms from many High Street shops, or online from Corgi. They do not recommend the small "black spot" detectors because they don't give an audible alarm signal. • Recognising British wildlife Most children cannot recognise common British wildlife, yet they can recognise non fictional aliens from shows like Dr Who, according to a survey by the National Trust • Glynn Christian The former Breakfast Time chef has a new cook book out, How to Cook Without Recipes • Speech and language problems A new survey has found that 50% of children in some deprived areas have speech and language problems but the provision of speech therapy in this country is considered patchy
