Tax will be displayed on prices
Legislation has been passed by the States of Jersey to allow the new goods and services tax (GST) to be added to displayed prices on shelves.

The price-marking legislation was adopted by the government on Wednesday, but the finer details will be put out to consultation.

Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf said it was important consumers knew how much tax they were paying.

From 1 May 2008, an extra 3% will be added to most goods and services.
