GST tax opposed by consumer group
The new goods and services tax (GST) in Jersey has been described as irresponsible and inaccurate.

The Jersey Consumer Council, which claims low income earners will be hit the hardest, is to organise a rally against the 3% tax.

It says there is confusion over whether the tax will make allowances for people on income support.

But States minister Terry le Sueur says any doubts will be resolved before the tax is introduced next year.
