Medal team gets honorary parade
Isle of Man Commonwealth Games team
The 28-strong Manx team won two medals, a gold and a bronze
The most successful Isle of Man Commonwealth Games team ever is to be honoured with an open top horse tram parade, the government has announced.

The tribute procession, from sea terminal to Villa Marina, will take place before the Sports Awards on Thursday 20 April.

Before this year, the island claimed six medals since its debut in 1958.

This year, in Melbourne, cyclist Mark Cavendish took gold and shooters David Walton and Trevor Boyles took bronze.

Tourism Minister David Cretney says it is important for the government and people of the Isle of Man to recognise outstanding achievements.

He urged islanders to line the route and show support for the sportsmen.
