The aim of "zero-ten" is to attract more business to Guernsey
A States of Guernsey minister is to address islanders' concerns about a new tax at a public meeting.

The "zero-ten" tax strategy will be introduced in January when the current corporation tax is scrapped.

Under the new system some businesses will pay 0% tax on corporate profits, while others will be taxed at 10%.

Treasury Minister Lyndon Trott said he hoped the meeting would provide an opportunity to answer questions and iron out any concerns.

Business incentive

The public meeting at the Beau Sejour Theatre is at 1630 BST.

Many businesses say they are not convinced the tax changes will benefit them.

It is hoped the tax change will increase Guernsey's attractiveness as a place to do business.

Offshore jurisdictions such as Jersey and the Isle of Man have already decided to adopt a similar arrangement.
