Recycling banks open for plastic
Plastic bottles can now be recycled in Guernsey from Monday.

There are seven collection points in the island for the most common types of bottles, with instructions on what can and cannot be recycled.

It is part of the plan to reduce the amount of landfill waste at Mont Cuet. Plastic makes up about 11% of an average household dustbin's contents.

Recycling Officer Jan Dockerill said it was an important addition to the existing recycling banks in the island.

All tops should be removed before bottles are recycled.

There are collection points in: St Peter Port, St Martin, Vazon, Cobo, L'Eree and the airport car park.
