Parish to bag kerbside recycling
Paper being recycled
More than 11 tonnes of recyclable waste was collected in St Peter Port
Half the houses in a Guernsey parish are to be offered kerbside recycling.

The scheme in St Peter's, which is to start on 26 April, follows a trial in St Peter Port earlier this year.

More than 11 tonnes of recyclable waste was collected in three months during the trial aimed at easing the amount of rubbish taken to the Mont Cuet tip.

Residents in about 450 households will be given coloured recyclable bags which they can use to leave out glass, cans, newspapers and clothing.

If successful, it is hoped the scheme will be extended across the rest of the parish.
