Island airport runs out of fuel
Alderney Airport has run out of aviation fuel.

The fuel is thought to have been used up sometime on Thursday. The situation has resulted from an ongoing dispute surrounding where it can be stored.

A health and safety ruling means supplier CYMA Petroleum is no longer permitted to use its long-term storage facility near the harbour.

A court application to have that ruling lifted has been adjourned until April. Planes have had to fill up in Guernsey.

Concerns are growing that tourism during the Easter holidays could be affected by the situation.

Alderney's States said it was working to resolve the issue.
