Foreign search for waste solution
Guernsey may look abroad for a solution to its growing rubbish problem following the States' rejection of plans to build a new incinerator.

Only a few years of life are now left in the quarry at Mont Cuet, so an alternative to dispose of waste has to be found.

Adverts are to be placed in newspapers, trade journals and websites asking operators to submit their ideas.

The States will draw up a shortlist of the best solutions in October.
