The airport had an emergency exercise the day before |
A light aircraft crashed in Alderney on Thursday night, just a day after an exercise helped test how the island would cope with a plane accident. Guernsey's emergency services were contacted at about 1800 BST.
The light aircraft had two people on board when it crashed at Alderney Airport.
Neither the pilot nor the passenger were injured.
Fire and ambulance crews were stood down as soon as it was established no one was hurt.
It follows an exercise on Wednesday testing how emergency crews would deal with such an accident.
It also gave them a chance to evaluate existing safety procedures.
The scenario the services had been faced with was a plane with a fault being diverted to Alderney after suffering an emergency.
