Airline calls for new terminal
Alderney Airport
Le Cocqs AirLink described Alderney Airport as "fifth rate"
A Channel Islands airline is launching a campaign for a better airport on Alderney.

LeCocqs AirLink said the current terminal was totally inappropriate and badly needed improvement.

The company described Alderney's airport as "fifth rate", saying that it suffered from serious overcrowding.

It also claimed it was potentially unsafe and unsuitable for disabled people.

New terminal

LeCocqs chairman Noel Hayes said that, for too long, locals and visitors had had to make do with short-term, temporary solutions.

He said the island deserved better, in the shape of a new purpose-built terminal.

But the airline said the island was desperate for funding to provide the facilities.

It urged islanders to lobby their politicians to secure the necessary money for the development.
