A Channel Islands airline has objected to plans for competition on its routes. Aurigny Air Services says it does not want Flybe to be allowed to operate between the Channel Islands, and between Guernsey and Manchester.
The company's objection comes despite a decision by Jersey's authorities to allow competition wherever possible, in what has been described as an "open skies policy".
Aurigny was bought by the States of Guernsey earlier this year, and hopes to give taxpayers a return for their money.
But it could now face competition from both Flybe, which wants to fly between Jersey and Guernsey and to Manchester, and Rockhopper, which will fly between the islands.
Authorities in Jersey say they will allow any company to operate on any route, unless there is a very good reason not to.
Aurigny managing director Malcolm Hart said it was already facing competition from the ferry service, and it was an unreasonable time to allow any more operators to fly on the routes.
