Hostage captain 'calm and cool'

The sister-in-law of a US sea captain being held hostage by Somali pirates has said she is confident he is "a smart guy who is in control".

Lea Coggino's comment came amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to try to secure the release of Capt Richard Phillips.

He has been held aboard a lifeboat since his vessel, the Maersk Alabama cargo ship, came under attack on Wednesday.
