The Riverside Hotel rebuild cost his insurance firm more than �500,000, owner Peter Templar says.

He had problems finding a builder to do it for that, so work did not begin for six months.

The hotel finally reopened on 1 July. It is not as full as normal, probably because potential guests "still think it's a building site".
