But for the most part, Boscastle has started to heal.

"Boscastle isn't going to be straight for another two years, probably. But everything is up and working," says Michael Hircock of the local parish council.

"I haven't heard anybody moaning and the shops, hotels, restaurants are in better condition now than they were before."
