The kakapo parrot, which lives on islands off New Zealand, is one of the most endangered birds in the world. Recently, three kakapos died because of blood poisoning caused by a lethal strain of soil bacteria. Although the kakapo has not entered the Frozen Ark yet, it will be a strong candidate for the near future.
