The Socorro dove (Zenaida graysoni) was one of the first species to enter the Frozen Ark. The endangered bird was unique to Socorro, one of the remote Revillagegido Islands off the west coast of Mexico. It now survives only in captivity, having been driven out of its wild home by habitat loss and domestic cats.
