Every Thursday, the villagers meet under Sauris rain tree to discuss progress and tackle problems. Many have responded enthusiastically to the project. For example, farmers impressed by their expanded yields are establishing a community cereals bank to market their products.
The plan is for villagers to teach surrounding communities so the project will grow, with knowledge passed from villager to villager.
The organisers deny they are imposing new ways of life on the village and insist the only condition on village participation is the absence of a civil conflict.
