Jodi Jones' body was found on 30 June
Police investigating the murder of Midlothian schoolgirl Jodi Jones have again questioned her boyfriend.

Luke Mitchell, 15, was taken to Dalkeith police station from his home in the town on Thursday morning.

He was interviewed for several hours by detectives before leaving the police station shortly before 1330 BST.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Police said the teenager had been released without charge and that inquiries were continuing.

Jodi's body was discovered on a country lane on the outskirts of Dalkeith on 30 June.

The 14-year-old had been stabbed repeatedly.

Jodi had been taking a short-cut along the secluded pathway to meet her boyfriend.

The alarm was raised when the schoolgirl failed to complete the journey or return home.

Forensic teams

Her body was found during a search by her boyfriend and members of her extended family.

Police forensic teams searched the family home of Jodi's boyfriend on 4 July.

The schoolboy was also questioned, although police stressed that the interviews were simply a matter of procedure.

Detectives investigating the murder have spoken to more than 3,000 people.
