Fog catchers of Peru

Lima is the second largest desert city in the world but gets just 40 millimetres of rain annually. Harvesting fog is one inventive solution that has been developed to deal with water shortages. For nine months of the year fog shrouds the foothills of the Andes Mountains allowing residents to collect water using fog nets.
