While hosting the My Story event in Blackpool, Ted Robbins shared a few moments to tell us his uncles Pat’s story. Ted’s father was one of five children, who were born and brought up in an old Victorian house called Mayfield in Rexham. It was named after Ted’s grandmother, May and left to his Uncle Pat when his grandparents died. After living in the house alone for many years, Uncle Pat finally married his sweetheart, Muriel, in his early 70’s. They sold Mayfield and moved into a bungalow. In his late 80’s Pat became ill and went into a nursing home for some respite care. When Ted and his father went to visit they were amazed to find him at Mayfield house which had become a nursing home. Furthermore he was actually staying in the bedroom his was born in.
