Mhairi and Ndaba both live in Essex and are welcoming Delilah into their family, joining them and daughter River.

Mhairi is a waitress, originally from Manchester, who moved to Essex with her family when she was a teenager.

Ndaba works as a labourer. He lost his father at a young age and feels that his stepdad was ‘not a good role model’. He talks about wanting to show other black men without father figures that ‘what happened to them, doesn’t have to happen to the next generation.’

We both suffered from post-natal depression with our first-born and this was a really difficult time for us. We’re keen to normalise the stigma around this and help others who might be in a similar situation.

Just a few months into their relationship, Mhairi became pregnant with River and this was a big hurdle for the two of them. The couple are both very open about having both suffered from post-natal depression. They want to share their experience with others and help them get through it.

They describe River as a ‘happy little lady’ who loves getting up to a bit of mischief but is also really enjoying her new role as a big sister.

River is still adapting to having another baby in the house, but she is taking on the role of being a big sister amazingly well.
