From Evensong at St Albans Cathedral with Dean Christopher Lewis as guide, to the rush-hour trip on Thameslink to London with local commuter Mike Dando, this programme looks at the daily experiences of St Albans residents.

Children from St Catherine’s Primary School in Ware tell the story of the dissolution of the local monastery by Henry VIII.

The group are taking part in some of the educational workshops that contribute to St Albans Cathedral’s role as a living church which is a place of worship and discovery as well as an important tourist attraction.

For many, the vibrant and colourful Saturday market is a highlight of the town, and the fruit and vegetable traders don’t disappoint, with virtuoso performances for the radio!
