It’s the oldest community in Milton Keynes, with a rich history and colourful local characters. But will it be able to maintain its distinctiveness or will it eventually be swamped by the new city?

The affable Big George gives us an insiders’ view of Stony Stratford. It’s his home town, and he’s very proud of it. Residents still use the local family shops and there are businesses that have been passed down through generations of families.

    The Bull.
    The Bull

Big George finds out how local people feel about becoming part of the new city, as property becomes sought-after by people who prefer to live in a quaint country town but still close to the amenities of Milton Keynes.

We also hear some tall stories that Big George swears are true, with the original Cock and Bull story and story of the cock horse that went to Banbury Cross.
