NARRATOR: 'Selin was born in Berlin. Her parents are Turkish and they live in Kreuzberg, a German-Turkish neighbourhood. Kreuzberg has more Turkish people, than any other place outside Turkey. Selin and her family love it here.'
SELIN: Tschüss.

SELIN: Hier wohne ich, wir haben zwei Wohnungen und das ist die Wohnung meiner Eltern. Hallo!
MOTHER: Hallo Maus, na. Na, wie war dein Tag?
SELIN: Geht so normal.
MOTHER: Geht so. Normal.
SELIN: So wie sonst.
MOTHER: So wie sonst immer? Hast du Hausaufgaben?
SELIN: Ja…
MOTHER: Ja.

SELIN: Danke. Das hier ist unser Wohnzimmer. Und hier finde ich es am gemütlichsten.

SELIN: Sie ist 16 Jahre alt und lernt gerade für Mathematik und ich mache jetzt auch mal lieber auch mal meine Hausaufgaben
NARRATOR: 'Die Hausaufgaben - homework. Her favourite subject is history. Geschichte. She doesn't like geography - Erdkunde.'
SELIN: Mein Lieblingsfach in der Schule ist Geschichte. Überhaupt nicht mag ich Erdkunde. Ähm, ich habe fast jeden Tag Hausaufgaben, das dauert in etwa eine Stunde.
NARRATOR: 'When she's done her homework, she’s off to her Capoeira class. Sie fährt mit dem Bus.'
SELIN: Zu Capoeira fahre ich mit dem Bus. Das dauert ungefähr 15 Minuten. Das schaffe ich.
BUS: Endhaltestelle - bitte aussteigen.
NARRATOR: 'Selin has been doing Capoeira for three years. Capoeira comes from Brazil and she loves the mix of martial arts and dance.'
SELIN: Ich mache Capoeira seit ungefähr drei Jahren also es macht mir sehr Spaß. Das Training dauert 90 Minuten aber danach bin ich auch echt müde.
NARRATOR: 'Echt müde, really tired and ready for dinner with the rest of the family.'
SELIN: Hallo.
FAMILY: Hey! Hallo Selin!
SELIN: Also, das ist mein Vater. Das ist meine Mutter. Meine Schwester. Und mein älterer Bruder. Wir essen jetzt zu Abend. Es gibt mein Lieblingsessen, Würstchen mit Kartoffeln.
NARRATOR: 'Sometimes they eat traditional Turkish food. But her favourite dish is typically German.'

Selin, a young girl who was born in Germany but has Turkish parents, lives in Kreuzberg, the Turkish part of Berlin.
She shows her family's flats and goes to her Capoeira club she attends, which is Brazilian martial art.
Selin introduces her family during their evening meal. She and her family speak German and Turkish, and eat both German and Turkish food.
