The IT Software policy sets out how the BBC meets its legal and contractual obligations, obtains good value for money, and operates effectively and securely in the licensing, purchasing and management of software. It details the responsibilities of all users of all software operated by the BBC.
This policy is based on a typical software lifecycle, detailing the responsibilities of staff with regard to acquisition, installation, management of deployments, usage, and removal and retirement of software.
