5. Yevgeny Kafelnikov

DOB:18.2.1974
Nationality:Russian
World Ranking:5
Previous French Open results:
2001 ::quarter-final
2000 ::quarter-final
1999 ::second round
1998 ::second round

Since winning the title back in 1996, Kafelnikov has struggled at Roland Garros and his poor form on the dirt this year suggests that pattern is unlikely to change.

But the Russian remains a graceful player and a potential threat at any of the Grand Slams.

He boasts a strong serve-and-volley game and a whipping double-handed backhand.

Used to be coached by Tim Henman's current guide, Larry Stefanki.
