32. Ivan Ljubicic

DOB:19.03.1979
Nationality:Croatian
World Ranking:35
Previous French Open results:
2001 ::first round
2000 ::first round
1999 ::n/a
1998 ::n/a

Ivan Ljubicic has been pushed into the top 32 seeds because of the withdrawal of Chilean Marcelo Rios.

But he has largely failed to carry over his displays from the end of last season to 2002.

He triumphed in Lyon last August, a week after taking the runners-up spot in Grenoble.

Croatian expectation rests heavily on the 23-year-old who has been singled out as the great white hope of Balkan tennis after Goran Ivanisevic.

But his previous French Open track record would suggest he is unlikely to answer their prayers.
