| Thursday, 30 January, 2003, 14:37 GMT Leinster-Biarritz at Lansdowne ![]() Lansdowne Road is the oldest international ground Leinster have moved their Heineken Cup quarter-final against Biarritz to Lansdowne Road in Dublin to accommodate a larger crowd. Their Donnybrook ground has a capacity of 7,500 and coach Matt Williams confirmed the match switch on Saturday 12 April was to "get the biggest provincial attendance in the history of Irish rugby". "We are now in a position to accommodate all our loyal fans and also give many more fans the opportunity to see and support Leinster," said Williams. Leinster have enjoyed a four-year unbeaten run in Europe at Donnybrook which creates a tremendous atmosphere under floodlights. But because of the demands of French television, the match will be played on a Saturday and not the usual Leinster Friday night date. Ravenhill friendly The organisers of the European Cup are keen to have the widest possible TV coverage of the competition. Leinster were the only team to go through the group stages unbeaten in this season's competition. Meanwhile, Girvan Dempsey's absence means Gordon D'Arcy will line out at full-back in Friday's interprovincial friendly against Ulster at Ravenhill. Peter McKenna moves to D'Arcy's wing berth. Overall, Leinster have named a strong team with Brian O'Driscoll and Denis Hickie among several internationals lining out. Leinster: G D'Arcy, D Hickie, B O'Driscoll, S Horgan, P McKenna, N Spooner, B O'Meara, R Corrigan (capt), S Byrne, P Coyle, A McCullen, M O'Kelly, E Miller, K Gleeson, V Costello. Subs: AN Other, G Hickie, A Kearney, B Gissing, B Willis, M Leek, D Quinlan/A Magro. |
