England rugby union coach Clive Woodward crowned a successful autumn by collecting an OBE from the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

"I'm extremely proud and humble to receive this award," said the former British Lion.

The 46 year -old was accompanied to the Palace investiture by his wife and three children.

"It means a lot to me personally but it's more for my family who have to put up with a lot and have been very supportive," said Woodward.

"Doing this job is all-consuming."

Last month, England beat Australia, New Zealand and South Africa at Twickenham, setting a world record of 18 successive Test victories on the same ground.

"The Queen did mention that we were having a successful time," said Woodward, whose team is now ranked number one in the world.
