Friday's quarter-finals:

Stephen Hendry 6-4 Jimmy White

Hendry 6-4 White
Hendry wraps up the match with another century break to end an enthralling encounter and book a semi-final showdown against Ken Doherty.

Hendry 5-4 White
Hendry somehow composes himself after coming so close to recording a maximum break in the previous frame, and there is little in it on the final colours until White snookers himself on the brown.

He manages to get out of it, only to let Hendry in to pot it and sneak the frame on the black to move within one of reaching the semi-finals.

Hendry 4-4 White
Hendry is on course for a maximum break with just the pink and black left to pot.

But he does not have perfect position after potting the blue and as he attempts to cut the pink into the corner, it rattles the pocket and stays out.

Hendry 3-4 White
White moves into a 35 point lead, but plays a poor safety shot to leave the reds wide open.

Unbelievably, Hendry misses the simplest of reds into the corner pocket. The mistake proves costly enough to lose him the frame as White edges in front.

Hendry 3-3 White
Hendry replies in the most emphatic fashion as he clears the table with a break of 111 to make it all-square again.

Hendry 2-3 White
Hendry moves into a 51-0 lead, but cannot shake White off. The Whirlwind steps up to the table and compiles a 77 break to move into a 3-2 advantage.

Hendry 2-2 White
White sends his fans ballistic as he slots in a century break to make the match all-square at 2-2 as the players leave the auditorium for the mid-session interval.

Hendry 2-1 White
Nerves are definitely playing a part as both players miss good opportunities to make frame-clinching breaks.

But Hendry has the better of the exchanges and wraps up the frame at his fourth attempt.

Hendry 1-1 White
White does well to compile a difficult break of 59, which is enough to level the match and send his army of fans into raptures.

Hendry 1-0 White
After a boisterous reception for the players, the first frame is a nervy affair, particularly for White, which is hardly a surprise.

Neither player scores a substantial break, but Hendry does enough to take the opener.

Earlier result:
