Storm's future is still in doubt after being locked out of their MEN Arena home following a dispute over rent. The game in Belfast appeared in doubt beforehand, and it looked as though Storm were just going through the motions. The visitors had never won in Belfast, and were 1-0 down inside 37 seconds with former Manchester forward Curt Bowen beating Stevie Lyle. Bees down Eagles But they were back on level terms within 79 seconds thanks to Colin Pepperall's first of the season. Goals from Colin Ward and Kevin Riehl on a powerplay saw Belfast take control. Finn Pasi Nielikainen cut the deficit midway through the second period. But unanswered goals from Rod Stevens, Doug MacDonald, Bowen and Ryan Kuwabara rounded off a comfortable win. In other games, Sheffield Steelers fought out a 2-2 draw with London after overtime, while Bracknell Bees overcame the Scottish Eagles 6-3. Results: Belfast 7 Manchester 2 |
