Steelers down Giants
Sheffield Steelers booked their place in the Challenge Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 win over Belfast Giants at the Odyssey Arena.

Steelers netminder Joel Laing was named man-of-the-match after making 41 saves.

After a scoreless first period, Jason Sessa fired Steelers in front and Mark Dutiaume doubled their lead as Colin Ward grabbed a consolation for the Giants.

Steelers, the three-time winners, join defending champions Scottish Eagles, Nottingham Panthers and London Knights in the last four.

In the Superleague, Nottingham Panthers beat London Knights 3-1 at the National Ice Centre.

Meanwhile, in Continental Cup action the Scottish Eagles trounced Rouen 6-2 in France.
