In tough conditions, it was Armagh kingpins Keady who got off to a flying start with Martin King finding the net twice inside the opening eight minutes. But favourites Portaferry battled their way back with Paul Mallon scoring a goal and wing forward Paul Braniff landing a couple of fine points. They helped give the Strangford Lough outfit a 1-11 to 2-4 advantage at half-time. Portaferry kept up the pressure in the second half and ran out comfortable winners. Dunloy 1-13 Lavey 0-10 The second semi-final was a closer affair with Dunloy being pushed hard by Derry side Lavey. It was a dour and at times ill-tempered clash and it was dominated by the free-takers Gregory O'Kane and Ollie Collins. O'Kane landed seven points for Dunloy with Collins scoring eight for Lavey. The only goal of the game came in the 18th minute when Lavey's Seamus Downey dropped a high ball from O'Kane. |
