Ballymoney rider Adrian Archibald produced an impressive series of rides in his Suzuki debut at Sunday's Monaghan Road Races.

Archibald claimed a first, a third and a fourth at the meeting.

His win came in the final event of the day where he pounced after a wrong turn by Richard Britton to claim the Grand Final race.

Earlier, Enniskillen man Britton had won the Open Race which had to be held over two legs following a couple of minor accidents.

Britton came home 12 seconds ahead of Martin Finnegan with Archibald in third.

The 600 was an entertaining race with Ryan Farquhar edging out Gary Jess and Britton.

Laverty victory

Jess lead for much of the race but he was passed by Farquhar on the final circuit.

English visitor James Crumpton won the 125 race after edging out Mark Curtin whiel Darren Burns took the 250 class.

Meanwhile, Michael Laverty claimed his first 600cc British Championship success on Sunday at Thruxton.

The Toomebridge man, who had qualified fourth, came home 10 seconds clear of Simon Andrews with Scott Smart in third place.

Laverty's impressive form this year is likely to land him a ride with a Dutch team in the 600cc Supersport World Championship next season.

Coates 21st

Laverty's brother Eugene finished seventh in the 125cc event at Thruxton while Paul Robinson took 12th in the same race.

Marty Nutt and Adrian Coates both had disappointing days at Thruxton.

Nutt, making his Honda debut, retired from both British Superbike races.

Coates, who rides for the Padgett-Yamaha team, was 21st in the first two-part Superbike race and retired from the second event.
