Treble for Lisburn rider
Lisburn rider Darran Lindsay
Lindsay opened with victory in the 125cc race

Darran Lindsay secured a hat-trick of wins at the Mid-Antrim 150 road races near Ballymena on Saturday.

The Lisburn rider opened his account for the day with a comfortable win in the Richmond 125cc race.

He was a start-to-finish winner from Nigel Moore of Dungannon in the eight-lap race over the Clough circuit.

Lindsay followed that up with victories in the 250 Junior, from Darren Burns, and the Regal 600 races, from Gary Jess and Richard Britton after Britton had led for seven laps.

The main race of the day, the Open class, was won by Enniskillen's Britton from Ryan Farquhar and Jess.

Britton, riding a Suzuki, set a new lap record of 105.69mph on the penultimate lap of the race.

Adrian Archibald put his bad form so far this season behind him to win the Lambert and Butler Senior race, beating Farquhar to second and Britton in third.

Raymond Porter won the Support race, the opening race of the day.

Lindsay was delighted with his three victories.

"All three were very difficult races, it's hard to say which one was the hardest to win," he told the BBC.

"The 600 normally produces the best races in these events and it certainly did so here.

"I got away quite well and was tucked in behind Adrain Archibald.

"At one stage I thought I was going to lose them but I caught up with Adrian and then got a bit of a break to go past Richard and just took my chance."
