Torquay manager Leroy Roesnior has warned against the mooted regionalisation of the Football League.

The former West Ham and QPR striker believes the change would lower the standard of English football.

He told his club's website: "When you've travelled as much as we have, it would be a good idea. But the product would become a bit stale.

"It would be a bit like in Scotland where they play each other four times. The excitement would be lost.

"The travelling is hard but if we want the variation we get from pitting ourselves against the best teams in England we have to put up with it."
