| Monday, 7 October, 2002, 09:36 GMT 10:36 UK Sorensen blow for Sunderland ![]() Sorensen was injured against Arsenal Sunderland goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen will be out of action until the new year after dislocating his elbow in their 3-1 defeat at Arsenal. The Danish international had already conceded two early goals to the Premiership leaders when he clashed with Gunners striker Thierry Henry in the 17th minute. Sorensen was contesting a high ball in the Black Cats' penalty area but fell awkwardly and immediately signalled for treatment. He was stretchered off and rushed to hospital with substitute keeper Thomas Myhre taking over. Sunderland boss Peter Reid said: "Thomas has dislocated his elbow and he has been to a London hospital where they have set it. "That looks as if he will be out for two to three months. It is a big blow but Thomas Myhre came in and did a good job." |
